Forged Signature

If a employee was absent on particular date and and his attendance was marked in red line i.e. he was absent for that date. But if he on next date mark his attendance as present. In that case is any law that we can issue him show cause notice.

Dear Surat Singh,
Unauthorised amendments in the records of attendance is misconduct. However, are you sure that the employee who had absented has amended the attendance records? What if someone else has done this in order to fix the absented employee? Therefore, be cautious while issuing the show cause notice. Issue the notice only if you have concrete evidence of the amendment.
Thanks,

This act will easily come under misconduct. But the onus will be on the management to prove that the said employee who was absent has himself put his signature on the next day. The entire procedure has to be proved under a domestic enquiry (provided that the employee is a 'workman') before taking further action.
