You can assign the same PF id to him when he rejoins.
The Member id corresponding to any area can be found out from the official website of the EPFO. For that the information required are, the State, District and the area PIN code.
While PF UAN number will remain same till retirement PF id /number should be allotted newly and same number cannot be allotted. PF number should be running number.
However if the employee proceed on break-in-service once he resume back he can continue with the same PF number.
