Is PF Deduction Necessary for a New Job with a Salary Over 15,000 and Less Than 20 Employees?

Hi,

If an employee had PF deducted in her previous job and in the new job her salary is more than 15,000, does the employer need to deduct PF? Moreover, the size of the firm she has recently joined has less than 20 employees. Please advise.

If an establishment is not covered under the EPF Act, they are not required to deduct the contributions. One can opt for NPS or any other suitable benefits if they wish to save for the future.

If the employer to whom she joined is not covered under the EPF & MP Act, 1952, they are not required to deduct or pay the contributions. However, if the new employer is covered under the EPF & MP Act, she will remain a contributor at least up to the present ceiling limit of Rs. 15,000/- for which she is required to fill Form 11, declaring therein the information of her previous EPF number and other details, etc.

What if her salary is more than $15,000? Would it then be compulsory to deduct PF from her salary?

Can you please answer this?

Please go through my earlier remark, which is self-explanatory. If the new establishment she has joined is covered under the EPF Act, then certainly she will become a member and contribute at least up to the ceiling limit of Rs. 15,000 per month.
