Feeling Stuck After Job Termination Due to Fake Documents: Can I Start Over?

Seeking Guidance for Career Challenges

I am a computer science graduate from 2010, and after graduation, I did not secure any campus placements for one year. In 2011, I went to South Africa through a consultancy and worked on "Networking and Other Technologies" for four years, until 2015.

Due to health issues, I returned to India and learned a software course that is currently in high demand. Within one month, I secured a job at a software company.

I did submit fake experience for job purposes, although I knew it was wrong. However, I felt I had no other choice but to submit the documents to the company.

I worked hard, gained good knowledge of the tools, and received appreciation from managers. However, recently, the company discovered that my previous employer was blacklisted. They arranged a meeting where all the HR personnel criticized me. Without listening to my explanations, they terminated my employment and had me sign a blank white paper stating, "All the documents submitted are fake, which is why I am resigning."

They did not provide me with an experience or resignation letter.

Concerns and Questions

Can I search for another job within the same company based on my previous experience? They have a letter from me stating that all documents were fake. Will this letter impact my future? Can the company take legal action against me?

Please suggest what I should do. I am feeling helpless and unsure of where to turn for guidance on the correct path. I want to restart my life.

Primarily, you have asked three questions. Their replies are given in italics:

Can I search for another job within the same company based on my previous experience?

It would be foolhardy to seek a job within the same company. If the falsification of employment is proven, such employees are blacklisted. This blacklist is for their internal recruitment purposes only.

They had taken a letter from me stating that all the documents submitted are fake. Will this letter have any impact on my future?

When the falsification of documents is discovered, the HR of your company should have conducted a domestic inquiry. Instead of proceeding with the inquiry, they opted for a shortcut and took a statement from you. This was done for your removal and nothing else.

Can the company take any legal action against me?

Companies do encounter such problems. These cases are not new to them; therefore, they may not involve the police or issue you a legal notice. Nobody has the time or energy for such wasteful activities. However, if they do take such actions, then it may be your luck.

Final Comments: - Did you abandon your job in South Africa? Do you have proper relieving documents? Based on this experience, why are you not attempting to secure a similar job? Instead of engaging in deceitful activities, it would be better to find a job that may pay less but upholds your dignity.

You should never have signed any blank paper. You did wrong by going the fake way. Now what is written on the blank paper is unknown to you. The company took a shortcut, browbeat you based on your fake documents, and terminated you. Now, as the learned member above has suggested, look around for jobs - this time with true details.
