Struggling to Get My Final Settlement from ERA Group – Any Advice on Recovering My Money?

nagesh.mandi
Dear friends,

Please advise, one of the construction companies, ERA Group, has not given my full and final settlement amount for more than a year. Their finance team keeps saying to wait for fund availability. I call them every week, but I keep getting the same response from them.

Please suggest any ways to recover my money from them.

Addressing Payment Delays in Construction Companies

Notoriousness among construction companies is well known for delays in payments to their vendors, consultants, advisers, employees, etc. Some even go further and do not pay at all. Due to their connections with underworld figures and politicians, government authorities are often lenient regarding their wrongdoings. Moreover, most construction companies have informal links with musclemen. This has been happening for decades.

Nevertheless, you need not be intimidated, regardless of the size of your past organization. You may file a formal complaint with the labor officer of the area where your ex-company is located. Carry evidence of your employment, such as appointment letters, salary slips, etc. Let's see how the Labor Officer (LO) handles the case. Further suggestions will be given after your meeting with the LO.

Thanks,

Put up your demand with full details in writing to the registered office. The letter can be sent by Speed Post so that you get proof of delivery. Be polite but specific while listing out your dues.

What capacity were you working with this company? Writing to the Labour Officer is a good idea.
