Industry-Specific Workforce Standards
Workforce standards cannot be universal as they vary from one industry to another. How can we compare workers in the garment industry with those in the cement industry? Within a company, comparison also becomes difficult because productivity depends on the level of automation, the skill level of the workers, etc.
Nevertheless, within an industry, we can make some comparisons. For the steel industry, it can be measured by the production of steel in tons per person. For the aviation industry or airlines, it can be the number of persons employed per aircraft.
