Expanding My Consultancy: Should I Hire for Business Development or Add to Current Roles?

I have been in the consultancy business for a year now with the help of freelancers. I am planning to expand my team, and I have a question. Should I hire a separate person for business development, or should I add additional responsibilities to the recruitment consultants that I hire?

If you know the strengths and weaknesses of your existing team, then based on that, you can decide to add more responsibilities to them. For example, if the recruitment consultant is free for 2 or 3 hours a day and is interested in business development, you can add it as an additional responsibility.

How well do you know the members of your team? It may not be necessary to hire anybody specifically. Ask the team to share the additional responsibility for the time being until the business expands.
