Understanding New PF Rules: Should Employers Contribute for High Earners?

raj.360@hotmail.com
Sir,

If any employer does not contribute in case of new employees where previously he had no eligibility and code, and his salary is above Rs. 16,000, then will it be valid under new rules? Or should the employer contribute 12% on Rs. 15,000?

Thank you.

Sir, if any employee joins the company after September 1st, 2014, is it mandatory to deduct PF from the employer when the monthly salary exceeds Rs. 15,000 for the employee and they do not have a PF code under the new PF rules?

Your post is still unclear because you are not providing all the necessary details. Instead of asking vague questions, please include the actual and complete information, such as the date of joining and the starting salary.

If the individual has a starting salary of over ₹15,000 and is willing to sign the exemption form, then they will not be covered by PF. However, you cannot have it both ways where PF is deducted from the salary but the employer's contribution is not provided.

If an employee who has never been an EPF member joins a new company with a salary of Rs. 16,000 per month, he/she may not need to be covered under the PF scheme.
