I'm a software professional, working in the IT industry for 10 years in India. Recently, I got an opportunity for employment in Malaysia. However, I have some concerns that I need to get cleared before I consider taking the job. There was an issue in my second last company, and due to some unfortunate event, I was terminated. I received an auto-generated release letter at the time of leaving. Recently, due to this sudden job opportunity, I contacted the HR team of that company regarding the termination issue. They confirmed that I can use the same release letter for future references.
My Concerns
- Should I explicitly mention the termination incident before joining?
- If I don't mention it and it later comes to the surface during background verification, what could happen to me and my career as per the country's rules?
Could someone please clarify these issues for me? It would be a great help. Thanks in advance.
