Should Study Leave Count Towards Total Work Experience? Seeking Your Advice!

Saswati
Dear all,

Please help me in resolving this query. One of my friends was working as an engineer in a plant from Dec 2006 to Aug 2008. In between, he had taken study leave for 1 year. Now he has nearly 8 years of experience, but if he includes this study leave period, then it comes to 9 years.

Should he include this period in his experience or not?

Thank you.

Hi,

It's a long-term leave, so it's better not to mention that in your experience letter. The next company will appreciate the same. If it's short-term leave, then you might be able to disclose it.

Thank you.
