Struggling to Measure Training Effectiveness After 5 Years – Any Advice?

Hi,

I am an L&D professional working in this field for the past 5 years. I have tried to measure training effectiveness on numerous occasions, but I am still not satisfied with the results. Can anybody provide guidance on this matter?

Dear Piyaa Gautam, You could have given a little more information, such as the nature of your industry, your finished product or service, your designation, whether you handle the delivery or outsource the training to someone else, your method of TNA, the type of programs that you conduct, existing methods of measuring ROI on training, challenges that you faced in measurement, and so on.

Measurement of training effectiveness depends more on organizational research or research of your operations than on the training itself. You should identify the costs associated with your various business activities and measure the cost before the training and the cost after the training. The reduction in cost signifies training effectiveness.
