Dear Parimal, What is the nature of your industry? Not all industries are suitable for a 5-day week. Therefore, much depends on the type of work that you do.
Secondly, what matters is productivity and not the number of days. A large number of companies in the US work for just five days, yet they could convert their company into an industrial empire. This is due to a high concentration on measuring business performance.
Take the case of France. Labor laws in that country only allow a 35-hour work week. Despite having the lowest work hours in the week, the person to GDP ratio is far higher in most Asian and African countries.
You have raised the query about the number of days per week, but what about your MD? Will you be able to convince him to convert from a six to a five-day work week? I ask this question because most bosses in India like to work 24 hours and expect their staff to do the same.
A couple of years ago, there was a query on a 5-day work week. I had replied to that post. You may refer to the following link to view it:

Though your query is brief, the reply is lengthy. Everything cannot be typed. Therefore, if interested, you may call me on my mobile.
Thanks,
