Company asking to produce failed mark sheet along with passed ones - why?

Simply tell them that you don't have the failed marksheets as you lost them. Verification of the marksheets is their headache not yours.

Well telling the company that you have LOST your failed mark sheets while keeping all other mark sheets safe is a sure recipe for trouble.
Loosing educational documents shows(from company POV) a negligence and carelessness which may not be digested by the would be employer.
I feel that original poster needs to cool down and produce failed or passed mark sheets without making a noise about it or find some other employer who does not ask for such documents.

In continuance of earlier post, there is a lot of fakes floating around.

Yesterday somebody had posted a link to a website promising high class fake-certificates ,passports or you name the document.

This newspaper link shows how much we believe in fake:

Real businesses grow on surge in fake certificates - The Times of India

Extract:

An Air India pilot suspended recently for producing a bogus Class 12 certificate, Goa minister Sudin Dhavalikar's graduate degree being questioned, and former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar's arrest in an alleged fake degree case ... these aren't isolated cases.

According to a new report by HireRight, a US-based provider of employment background checks, 23% of more than 2 lakh inspections done in India from January 2014 to April 2015 yielded discrepancies.

"There are thousands of fake universities and bogus institutes in India. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to forgery,"

So if a company does double check and triple check, one should not feel bad and on the other hand cooperate in every way to let them satisfy themselves of the veracity of certificates, job experiences etc.

Fake CVs and fake experience certificates are aplenty in our working world.
People join unrecognised colleges/courses shelling out huge amounts and get a worthless degree/diploma.The thrill of the name of a foreign university just attract people like bees to honey.
One must exercise due checks before joining any course and shelling out huge amounts of money.UGC periodically releases list of fake universities.
I would say your education starts with knowing which course to join and which institute or university to join.
This link from respected business webs ite will be useful to those who wish to avoid getting trapped in the web of fake.

Just because people are into fakes, does not mean you can harass genuine candidates, if they are that much concerned then, they can ask the candidate to get his marksheets verified/attested by the university.
Even courts and tribunals in India do not ask for such strict evidences. Are the companies on a higher standing than the courts in India?
There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. They can be taken to court if their only basis of rejection is not supplying failed marksheets.
If they have any doubt about the veracity of the documents, you can get them notarized. Asking for failed marksheets is very ridiculous.
