Can We Enroll a New Employee in PF/ESIC Immediately After Joining?

Hello Sir/Madam,

I have a doubt regarding PF/ESIC nomination of a new employee. The question is, can we enroll the name of an employee who was enrolled in PF/ESIC in his previous company and was not eligible for PF withdrawal before 2 months of his exit, and he has now joined our company? Can we enroll his name now, or do we have to wait for 2 months?

Please suggest.

Hi,

It is suggested not to show the employee as a new member for PF and ESI. Provide continuity of service. For PF, connect through his existing UAN. For ESI, if he has a permanent card, you can continue the same by linking the existing IP number.

Yes, you can enroll him under EPF now. Even if he has withdrawn his EPF amount in respect of his previous employer after resignation, he can or shall be enrolled.
