Maharashtra's New PT Rule: How Does It Affect Female Employees Earning Under 10,000?

Dear all,

Attached here is the circular regarding PT amendment for females in Maharashtra. There is no deduction of profession tax in the case of a female employee drawing a gross salary up to Rs. 10,000/- effective from April 2015.

I just want to understand if PT deduction for a female employee is applicable if she is getting a gross salary of more than 10,000/- per month. If it is below that amount, is there no PT applicable?

No, PT is not applicable on amounts below $10,000.
