Structural Changes Ahead: How Can HR Support Employees in Adapting Smoothly?

If an organization is going to have structural changes in its business, how should we as HR help the employees accept and adapt to the changes?

If yes, then why?

Employees dread most the manpower restructuring. This is a fabulous phrase used for downsizing. It creates fear psychosis amongst the employees. Try to find out what you can do to reduce this.

The next important thing as an HR professional is to improve organizational communication. Let there be no place for rumors. Otherwise, the grapevine will create havoc on the morale of the staff members.

Change management is a comprehensive process, and unless the terms of change are understood, not much can be said.

Current Organizational Structure

My organization's nature is logistics. We have not been taken over by any other company. I work in Learning and Development. We are making changes in the business to achieve our goals. The current structure is quite complicated, so we have been advised to simplify our operating business structure.

Role of Learning and Development

As part of Learning and Development, we are taking the initiative to help HR understand how to implement these changes with employees in a way that is not overly challenging for them.

We have already hired consultants. They have suggested making some changes, and that's already in process.
