Is It Risky to Hide My Forced Resignation and Notice Period from Future Employers?

Aronpk
I was asked to resign from my company (there were massive layoffs happening) on 31st March 2015. Even though at the time of joining in May 2013, there was a provision of a 2-month notice period, the company immediately wanted us to leave without serving the notice period. In lieu of serving the notice period, they would provide a work experience certificate until May 2015.

Now, I have not disclosed this fact in the interviews that I have attended at prospective employers. Is there any risk in that?

These kinds of things do happen in the corporate sector, and you will have to smartly answer during interviews.

Ensure all other release formalities are also completed, keeping this date in mind.

If they are giving you experience certificates till May, then you should have no problem.

There is a possibility that HR knows your company is going through layoffs and may use that to squeeze you on rates. Otherwise, I do not see any need to advise him on it.

As long as you are paid for two months and the date of relieving is in May, you should not have any problems with a future employer.
