Concerned About a Friend's Job Resignation: Will It Impact Future Opportunities?

shiva_anna
Dear All,

I require suggestions about one of my friends. My friend was suspended for 3 days, after which he resigned from his job due to underperformance and negligence towards his duties. Will this affect his candidacy with other companies during a background check? I am seeking help on this matter.

It depends on the kind of relieving letter/certificate being given.

It depends on how strictly the new company conducts its employee history check.

HR head of that company confirmed that he will take care at the time of the background check and the relieving and experience letter will be issued normally.

Thank you.

As an HR professional, I usually do the reference check for new candidates. Usually, that will be my first question: how did he resign from your company? If the job performance is good but he absconded, we would just hire the guy under contract. But if he was working so-so and he resigned well, we might have to consider. So what's important is to have a good relationship with the HR of his previous company. Ask them not to reveal the way he resigned due to Privacy Protection. Hope it will be helpful.
