Please let me know if the expenses incurred during treatment can be recovered from the Workers' Compensation insurance policy taken out. Also, inform me about the benefits generally covered under Workers' Compensation insurance policies.

Workmen's Compensation Insurance Coverage

Workmen's Compensation (Employee Compensation) insurance provides coverage only for compensation in case of loss of limb, death, etc. If your company purchased ECP with the condition of general treatment, then you are eligible to claim.

Thank you.

The quantum of claim expense and degree of injury are of importance here. Workmen Compensation is a legal liability policy that covers all liabilities falling upon the employer under the Workers' Compensation Act (now known as the Employers' Compensation Act) and the Fatal Accidents Act. Death and disability are also covered under workers' compensation. However, if the employee demands compensation for their treatment from you (the employer), stating that they suffered the injury during work hours and it was work-related, then the same will be covered under workers' compensation insurance. You need to inform your workers' compensation insurance company immediately and consult with them regarding the procedure for claiming under the policy.
