RESIGNATION - Resignation Letter [Thread 520776]

jennamarie1993.jma@gmail.com
After submitting your resignation letter to your supervisor, the standard practice is to follow a 30-day notice period. The question often arises - what exactly does the "30 days" refer to? Is it 30 calendar days or 30 working days?

Notice period will be calculated on calendar days only. Most of the personnel and statutory departments will count days in calendar days.

Thank you for your attention to these details.

Hi Jenna,

The turnover or notice period, as we call it, is a period of 30 working days and not calendar days. It may start from the 1st day of a month and end on the 30th day or any other date, concluding after the completion of 30 days.

Notice pay is normally calculated on calendar days. If your appointment letter specifies 30 physical working days, then it should be working days.

Mr. Jenna, do you get salary for the calendar days or just for the days worked? For salary, you are paid for calendar days, and for the notice period, you are compensated for working days!
