Can the Director of a Company be the ICC Chairperson/Member of that Company? Response requested.

Yes, but the director should be a female to be the chairperson of the ICC. A male director can be a member only.

If the Director of the company is a male, he can only be a member.

Formation of the ICC

According to the law, the formation of the ICC will constitute the following:

1. Presiding Officer – The senior-most woman employee in the workplace.
2. Not less than two members from among employees, preferably committed to the cause of women or who have had experience in social work or have legal knowledge.
3. One member from among NGOs or associations committed to the cause of women or a person familiar with issues relating to sexual harassment.

At least half of the total members so nominated shall be women.
