Hi, our company's working hours are from 09:00 to 17:30. Our management wants to draft a "No Overtime Policy." Please assist us in drafting this policy. Thank you.

Are you from the manufacturing sector or service sector? What type of industry are you in? Are you registered under the Factory Act or the Shops and Establishment Act?

If your staff is working beyond 05:30 PM, then it is mandatory to pay overtime. You cannot make any policies that transgress the labor laws.

Analyzing Overwork Causes

Have you analyzed the causes of overwork? Who is overworking and why are they overworking? Is it because of poor manpower planning or inefficiency? Have you identified the systems and processes of each department? Have you identified the direct and indirect costs associated with each department? If yes, then was the measurement of costs done scientifically? What were the parameters of these costs?

Overtime Payment Analysis

What is the percentage of overtime payment (OTP) out of your Total Employee Cost (TEC)?

Thank you very much for your reply. Ours is a manufacturing company, and we are registered under the Factory Act. Our staff does not work beyond 5:30.
