Feeling Isolated at Work Abroad: How Do I Handle Office Politics and Cultural Challenges?

wani.basharat@yahoo.com
I hope that you people will give me good suggestions. I worked in FMCG as an HR Executive in India for more than two years. After that, I got a chance to go overseas, and since June 2014, I have been in Saudi Arabia. Here, all the staff are Filipinos and Koreans, and I am the only Indian in my office. All the Filipinos are playing politics with me because I am the only Indian, and the managers also listen to them. I am working alone and silently. I can't concentrate on my work because of the wrong working conditions and the bad attitude of everyone. I need your suggestions on what to do. I was thinking of going back to India, but at the same time, I think if I go back, I will be jobless. There are a lot of tensions in my mind, and I really can't think now. So please, I need your suggestions.

Understanding Your Legal Rights and Job Entitlement

Before you make any core decision, it is essential to ascertain what your legal rights are regarding your current job. If you are entitled to these rights, you can assert your position and address the unfavorable conditions to rectify them.

Please provide details about the nature of your organization, the location where you were working in India, whether you were sent on deputation to Saudi Arabia, if you are governed by the Emigration Act, your terms of appointment, and any other relevant information.

Thanks,
Sushil
