Company Not Relieving Me

shagun daga
hello everyone, I m shagun , fresher, i had joined a listed company as a company secretary 1 month back, they did not gave me any offer letter, recently i had faced severe cervicle pain. and doctor have suggested me to take rest. so will not be able to resume to my work.
wen i told this to my company, dey said they will not teriminate me soon and ask me to contact to them after 1 month.
My point is how can i lend my degree to company to whom i m not working..plus they will not give me pay also ( not even for the period i have worked). n how do i trust those people that they will relieve me after 1 month.
and i dont even have full idea of the working of the company so what should i do in such a situation. kindly guide

Hello,

This is how I read your situation.

1) You are qualified. The said company employed you primarily BECAUSE of that and also because they have a need for the skills-whether by force of law or otherwise.

2) The company not wanting to relieve need not be taken in the negative spirit at this stage. To me it just means that they sympathize with your situation and are wiling to wait.

3) Your wanting to quit is fair and straight forward.

I suggest you write a mail to them elaborating your concerns that you may not be fit to join within one month (let us at least say so!). The period for which you may have to stay away will depend upon the Doctors attending you and the time you will take to recover fully. It is for these reasons it is only fair that you must separate for the time being and the company must accept this reality. Promise them that once you are fit, you will take contact with them before accepting any other opportunity.

See what response you get. We will decide future course of action depending upon their response.

Regards
