BPO Employee on Bench for 3 Months Without Pay: What Should I Do Next?

daniel_loghart@yahoo.com
I work in a certain BPO, and I have been on the bench for the past three months as the process has not started yet. However, they are not paying my salary, saying that it will be paid when the process starts. I am very lost about what I should do. Please help.

Whether the company secures its business or not, non-payment of wages to employees is not permissible under the provisions of the Payment of Wages Act.

May I ask which city you are based in? Please locate the labor office in your area. Approach the labor officer with sufficient evidence of your employment and inquire whether the labor officer will issue a notice to your company.

One downside of approaching the labor officer is that the company authorities may become upset, potentially leading to your termination. Are you prepared for that?

Thanks,

Are you an employee of the BPO, or are you a trainee? Do you have an appointment letter with salary details? What other terms are included in it?
