Designing KPIs and KRAs is absolutely an in-house job. Outsiders have little role to play in this process. Every company functions in its own way, and what is applicable to another company may not be applicable to yours.
Every department receives input, processes it, and delivers outputs to their customers, whether internal or external. To design customized KPIs, it is essential to understand the responsibilities of the position, the systems, and processes of the department, etc. Once this information is known, designing the KPIs becomes possible.
