Understanding Haryana's Labour Welfare Fund: What Benefits Can Employees Access?

I am in Haryana and in Haryana, we are paying Rs. 15 per month as welfare fund. Kindly let me know which type of benefits an employee can take from the welfare fund.

Dear Jitender,

As far as I know, LWF in Haryana is Rs 2 from the employer and Rs 1 from the employee. Has this changed, or is your company under a special rule? Kindly clarify it.

Yes, we can take advantage of the Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) in the form of advances, loans, or staff welfare activities. However, most employers avoid utilizing the benefits of LWF as they are also required to contribute a certain amount to it in case of a request.

Dear Jitender,

Kindly note that the following benefits can be availed from the Labour Welfare Board:

Name of Scheme Amount
Ex-gratia Rs. 50,000/-
Kanyadan Rs. 21,000/-
Spectacle & Dental Care Rs. 500/-
Excursion-cum-Study Tour reimbursement of fare @ 50 paisa per kilometer per member
Accident while performing basis of disablement percentage fixed by the Government hospital/E.S.I. Board.*
Scholarship to the children of industrial workers

Apart from these, there are many other schemes like Mukhya Mantri Sharam Purskar Yojna, Labour Welfare Centers, etc.

Formalities required to avail benefits:
1. Wage Limit of the worker is up to Rs. 15,000/- per month.
2. Contribution paid by the concerned Management of the worker from 2002 to the present date.
3. Current salary slip of the worker issued by the concerned management.
4. Date of receipt of Application/Required Length of service:-

Please note that the contribution of employees and employers towards the Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) has been enhanced to Rs. 5/- and Rs. 10/- respectively, effective from April 2007.
