Dear,

In my industry, we are storing more than 2500 litres of different types of paints and some other lubricants (most of which belong to Class 1 types as per Petroleum Classification). Do we need any license for this? If yes, then which act requires the license?

The Government of Jharkhand, via notification no. SO-60, has amended sub-rule (2) of rule 5 of the Jharkhand Factories Rules, 1950. The license granted or renewed under this chapter shall remain valid or be in force for a minimum period of one year to a maximum period of fifteen years, as applicable. The license so granted or renewed shall remain valid up to 31st December of the applied period, provided that the fee prescribed under Schedule 'A', 'B', and 'C' is deposited for the period of application. In the case of a temporary factory or if the nature of their activity demands, the Chief Inspector may issue a factory license for less than ten years' validity upon an application made in this behalf by an occupier.
