Facing an Absconding Letter Without a Contract: What Should I Do Next?

Sunil Sain
I was an employee in a company, but due to salary reasons, I have resigned. I worked for 5 months for that company, but they only gave me one month's salary. One day, I left that job; they did not provide me with any joining letter or contract paper. Now, they have sent me an Absconding Letter and mentioned compensation in it. I am unsure about what I should do. Please suggest. Reply ASAP.

Since the company has neither provided any written documents for your employment nor have you received them yet, there is no question of legal action being taken against you.

Sunil,

It would be good fun if the company did try to take legal action because you would be able to show that you were not paid for 5 months. No court or government authority would say that you must work when the employer is incapable or not interested in paying a salary. Instead, the company would be penalized and made to pay the salary. So no, I do not think they can take any action against you.
