How Do I Calculate Casual and Sick Leave for New Employees on Probation?

MRajsek
Dear Seniors, I would like to have your advice on my following query.

Recently, three employees joined our office. The management guideline is that the new joiner will not have any Earned Leave until he or she completes the probationary period of six months and will be eligible for CL & SL on a pro-rata basis.

Calculation of CL & SL for New Employees

How should I calculate the number of CL & SL for the employees who joined on 23/06/2014?

Thanks in advance.

Understanding Pro-rata Leave Calculation

The total Casual Leave (CL) and Sick Leave (SL) in a year, as per your company's leave policy, must be divided equally into the number of months. This is called pro-rata. It determines the amount of leave an employee can avail per month.

If you require any further information or clarification, please feel free to write.

For example, if the total CL and SL are 14 (7 CL and 7 SL), then you can divide it as follows: \( \frac{7}{12} \times 6 = 3.5 \) and vice versa.
