How Should I Handle a Job Ad Conflict with Another Company's HR? Seeking Advice!

tutorco
Hi, I am working as an HR Recruiter in a company, and I posted a job advertisement in our cafeteria where employees from another company (in the same building) come for lunch. I am receiving emails from the HR of that company requesting the removal of the ad as it appears that we are targeting their employees. Kindly suggest what to do? Please advise on the best course of action in this situation. Thank you.

They advised you in the correct way to delete that ad as it gives the impression that you are engaged in headhunting.

I suggest that you remove that from the cafeteria and instead put it on the notice board in the work area. This way, it will be visible to all employees, allowing them to refer potential candidates from their network.

Thank you.

Posting Advertisements on Company Premises

Posting anything on our premises/property is not an offense. Other companies' employees often come to your organization's cafeteria; therefore, logically, there is nothing to worry about. However, as an employer, they may assume that by allowing their employees to have lunch in your cafeteria, you have intentionally posted that ad to attract them.

Normally, since it is the organization's space, you can post things as you wish or need. However, as an ethical and responsible employer, refrain from posting such advertisements, as it may, in some way, damage the company's image.

I strongly second Mr. Manish Srivastava; it is your premise, and you are at your own will to put any advertisement. If the HR of another company is very much concerned about their employees, then they should allow their employees in your company's café. Similarly, if any job posting is advertised in any media, do we require any competitor/neighbor company's permission?
