Can Employees Combine Casual and Paid Leaves with Maternity Leave? Seeking Legal Insights

My company falls under the Shops and Establishments Act. An employee in my company has availed her maternity leave and she wants to know if she can combine her CLs and PLs along with her maternity leave.

Legal Rules for Combining Leaves

Is there any legal rule regarding combining other leaves with maternity leave, or does it depend on the company's HR policy itself? Please advise.

Combining Leaves with Maternity Leave

There is no legal provision prohibiting the combination of leaves, such as Casual Leave (CL), Sick Leave (SL), or Privilege Leave (PL), with Maternity Leave. It is purely at the discretion of the company's management or any relevant company policy.
