How Can I Claim My EPF from a Closed Company? Seeking Advice on Next Steps

Hi Team, I am Amit, and I worked with Spanco BPO in Gurugram. I worked there for approximately 10 months but could not apply for an EPF claim. Now, I want to claim the same, but the organization has stopped. I have my PF account number. Is there any process to get my EPF amount?

Regards, Amit

Please refer to the FAQ on the PF Site, Point No. 19. Get the signature from the person mentioned below and fill out forms 19 & 10C. Submit the forms directly to the PF office.

Question 19: What is the procedure to be followed by the member if the employer is not attesting his claim forms?

It is the duty of the employer under the Act and Scheme to assist the Employees' Provident Fund organization in settling the Provident Fund dues of their employees. The employer must complete the prescribed application within 5 days of receipt (para 72(5)) and hand it over to the member upon their departure from service. If a member encounters difficulty in getting the form attested by the employer, they can seek attestation from any of the following officers and submit it to the Provident Fund office:

• Manager of a bank.
• Any gazetted officer.
• Member of the Central Board of Trustees/committee/Regional Committee (Employees' Provident Fund Organization).
• Magistrate/Post/Sub Post Master/President of Village Panchayat/Notary Public.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have one more question in relation to the same. My PF account belongs to Maharashtra. Can I submit the claim form to any of the PF Offices, or will I have to send it to the main PF office?

Amit

Please submit your Form 19 and 10C and submit it at the PF office after getting it verified and signed by the Bank Manager. You can register and lodge a claim in PF Grievance on EPFO.com.

Thank you.

You have to send your claim form to the EPFO office, which actually maintains your EPF account.

You need to submit your PF form only to the concerned branch where your PF account is maintained, not to any of the PF offices.

Thank you.
