Request for Assistance with EPFO Benefits

Suddenly, one of our employees has passed away, so I am required to provide the benefits of EPFO. I have filled out Form 20 and Form 10D, but regarding EDLI, it has not been updated, and I have not had the chance to work on this yet. Therefore, I kindly request all of you to please assist me with this.

Thank you.

I believe you are remitting the EDLI amount to EPFO. If so, the member's nominee will receive 20 times the salary, subject to a salary ceiling of Rs. 6500/- or compensation of Rs. 1,30,000. Please contact the Regional PF Commissioner's Office.

If anybody has died, please fill out Form 5 for the EDLI Claim and send it to the respective PF Office to receive the EDLI Payment for their dependents.

Dear Saini, please submit the following documents to the regional EPFO office:

1. Form 5, signed by the nominee of the member and attested by the employer.
2. Copy of Form 2 (Revised) attested by the employer.
3. Copy of the bank account passbook of the nominee attested by the employer.

Thanks,

Seniors, thanks to all for the valuable replies. I am a bit confused about the meaning of "(the member's nominee will get 20 times the salary)." Please help me understand this.

Please help me get out of this confusion.

Thank you.

Member's salary will be either Rs. 6500 or below or above Rs. 6500. If the salary is below Rs. 6500, compensation from EPFO towards EDLI is 20 times the salary. If it is Rs. 6500 and above, the compensation will be Rs. 1,30,000.
