Supreme Court Ruling: Interest on Workers' Compensation Starts from Accident Date, Not Award Date

The Supreme Court has held that in the case of a claim under the WC Act (now the Employees Compensation Act, 1923), interest is payable from the date of the accident and not from the date of the award. Good and proper decision by the court; otherwise, the insurance company was being rewarded for its delaying tactics. I think the order should have been revised to adjust the award upwards for inflation since the date of the accident.
