You should start your career as an HR Generalist. It provides you with exposure to a wide range of HR functions and their interrelationships. Such a background will be of immense help when you move to senior positions like HR Head, wherein you are called upon to guide your team in handling different HR functions, thus helping you make prudent decisions.
