CBDT Revises Document List for PAN Application

CBDT has revised the list of documents to be enclosed with the application for the allotment of a Permanent Account Number. It has notified certification formats for address and ID proof. A copy of the notification dated 23.12.2013 in this regard is attached for your information.

Updates on Document Requirements for PAN Application

The main addition seems to be the Aadhaar Card; the rest look similar to what I remember it being before. It is also noted that it now allows ration cards with a photo. Ration cards were previously not accepted as valid documents. However, it is important to mention that ration cards in Maharashtra do not include a photo.
