I am here to seek your advice on my situation. Kindly help me solve my problem. I have a work-related inquiry, and I am explaining my situation to you. Kindly go through it.
Background of My Employment
I am working as an HR in a startup BPO outsourcing company. The company started in November 2013 (approved registration by the government). I joined in mid-September 2013. When I went for the interview, the directors of the company conducted it. I shared my experience and knowledge with them. I have 2 years of experience as a Recruiter and HR Admin. They asked me to join the company the very next day. At that time, they offered me a salary of Rs. 15,000 for the first month and assured me they would increase it the following month. I joined as HR without any letter. I received my appointment letter at the end of November 2013. They offered me Rs. 21,000 per month (net salary) as HR Manager (for the first month Rs. 15,000 and from the second month onwards Rs. 21,000).
Interview and Expectations
During the interview, they asked if I knew about salary calculation and recruitment. I answered yes, as I have knowledge of these areas and have taken some professional training. They had high expectations from me, believing I could manage everything. They gave me the HR Manager designation and power. However, with 2 years of experience, I was not entirely eligible for that position. I suggested they could recruit me as an HR Executive or HR Assistant, but they still gave me the HR Manager designation and generated the appointment letter.
Change in Behavior and Salary Issues
I tried to support them with my experience and knowledge, but suddenly after October 2013, their behavior changed, and they took back my appointment letter. For the first 15 days of September 2013, they paid me a salary based on Rs. 15,000. I received my October 2013 salary on 30th November 2013, calculated on Rs. 13,000 per month. On 3rd December 2013, they informed me that I was not meeting their expectations for the respective salary, so they could only offer Rs. 13,000 per month for my position. It was up to me whether to continue working or quit. I was surprised by this decision, made without informing me. I spent 3 months there with full dedication, and they also withheld Rs. 7,000 from my November salary. I didn't confront them but asked them to mention any issues as soon as they noticed them.
Current Situation and Request for Advice
Currently, I am working with this company without any document. Their way of communicating has also changed, and they are trying to underestimate me in every situation.
Seniors, kindly let me know what I should do. Should I leave the company or stay? I want to learn as I am at the entry level in my career.
Note:
1. I have 2 years of experience as a Recruiter & HR Admin.
2. I am working without any document.
3. They have withheld Rs. 7,000 of my salary.
