Effective Strategies for Handling Employee Discipline Issues: Warning Letters, Feedback, and Perform

moni agrawal
Hi,

This is my first query. Can you help me with some samples of warning letters for spoiling the office atmosphere (joking around, laughing, etc.)?

Thank you,
Monika

Hi Monika, you may use below format for the warning letter -
Dear Mr. XYZ,
It has been noticed that you are in a habbit of bearing casual attitude whilst on duty.
Bearing casual attitude whilst on duty amounts to gross misconduct and is not acceptable.
You are hereby strictly warned to show improvement in your performance and general conduct in line with the company’s values or else the company shall be forced to take necessary action as deemed fit.

Dear Monika,

Before the issue of the warning letter, have you given one-to-one feedback to the delinquent employee? Is there no improvement in him? If the feedback is not given, then I recommend you do it. There are several articles available on the web on how to give feedback. You may follow them. I have given an exhaustive reply on performance feedback. Though your case is different, many points of my reply are applicable in your case as well. "Warning letter" is negative discipline. Why invoke negative discipline if positive discipline works?

Ok...
