Seeking Guidance: How to Transition from Business to HR with My Experience?

cthangavelu
Currently, I am running a small-scale business related to injection molding and cleaning chemicals. Due to continuous losses and bad debts, I want to transition into the HR field. I am a part-time MBA graduate with a total of 24 years of experience, split equally between industries and business. Due to personal reasons, I now aim to switch my career focus to HR, which aligns with my MBA specialization. I have knowledge in payroll processing, ESI, PF procedures, and general administration. I am seeking expert advice for my future career.

In the past, there was a similar query. I recommend you go through my following reply:

In the above link, you will find how to do a "SWOT Analysis" and use the "Johari Window." Use these tools to gain insight.

By the way, you mention that you have been running your own company for the last 12 years. Therefore, will it not be difficult for you to get into employment mode? Have you thought about the mental adjustment that you will be required to make?

Business failures can result from poor marketing, inefficient operations, lack of quality orientation, and so on. Would it be possible for you to arrange finance and improve your business, if not in this field then in another field? Please consider this carefully.

Your case is quite different from others. No matter how small an entrepreneur one may be, becoming a paid employee again is an uphill task. When your boss gives you orders, it will remind you of your past day in and day out.

All the best!
