Notice Period Cut to 30 Days: How Are Employees Reacting to This Change?

My organization has sent an email to all employees stating that, effective immediately, the notice period for all employees has been standardized to 30 days. Now, employees who previously had a 90-day notice period are not accepting the new policy as they fear layoffs.

Company policies are subject to change over time due to various factors. If such policies are communicated properly with reasons, they should be acceptable to all.

In my experience, many companies change their leave policies, PMS systems, variable pay structures, working hours/days, etc., and communicate with the employees for implementation.
