Is an Employee Joining on October 1st Eligible for a 6-Month Increment? Seeking Advice

I am an HR professional working in a leading Real Estate company in NCR. My company has a policy that after completing 6 months, you are entitled to an increment. In the case of an employee who joined on 1st October, are they entitled to an increment or not? If not, why? Please suggest what that person needs to do in this regard.

Dear Sunil, what does your compensation policy guide? Is it not on a pro-rated basis? When does your salary review cycle end? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Your query is not clear. However, when there is a stipulation in a company's policy that an employee is eligible for an increment upon completion of six months, then the six months are to be computed from the date of joining. In this example, the said employee shall be eligible for an increment on 1st April of the following year unless the company's policy stipulates otherwise.
