Unexpected Termination: How Should I Respond to Sudden Job Loss Advice Needed

mba.lokesh@rediffmail.com
I was working in a hotel in the HR Department for the last three years. During this time, I received two promotions along with salary increments. However, suddenly my boss informed me that my performance is not up to the mark and suggested I resign today. Please advise me on what I should do.

What has happened to you is quite unfortunate. However, it is quite common in the hotel industry. I recommend you submit your papers, collect your dues, obtain the "No Due cum Employment Certificate," and move out. Remaining unemployed may result in a gap in your career. However, these cases are common in the hotel industry, and you may not be questioned about this gap by your future employer.

Once you leave the hotel, start searching for a job diligently. You should be able to secure a job within a month or so. Additionally, the hotel industry has a tight-knit network. Send your CV to all your friends, ex-employees, etc. Someone is bound to assist you.

Nevertheless, you need to analyze why this problem arose. Have you antagonized your boss in any way?

Sir, I was working in a hotel in the H.R. Department for the last three years. During this time, I received two promotions along with salary increments. However, suddenly, my boss informed me that my performance is not up to the mark and advised me to resign today. Sir, please advise me on what I should do.

This situation typically occurs in standalone properties rather than chain hotels, as Mr. Dinesh correctly pointed out. I recommend submitting your resignation and seeking opportunities in reputable chain hotels. I wish you the best of luck.
