Understanding PF Deductions During Probation: Should It Adjust with Leave Without Pay?

majet
In case of leave without pay during the probation period, the amount of wages we deduct is based on the number of days and the gross salary.

Question on PF Deduction

My question is, should we also deduct the PF amount? What does the law say? What are the practices?

For example, if a worker has a basic salary of Rs. 6207, then the PF deduction will be Rs. 745. But if the worker is present for only 23 days, should the deduction still be Rs. 745, or should it be adjusted according to changes in the basic salary?

PF and ESI Deductions on Wages Earned

PF deduction or ESI deductions are always on "WAGES EARNED." To answer your specific query, you need to deduct on 23 days' wages earned. If you are calculating on a 30-day basis, then he would have earned wages of Rs 4758.70, and 12% of this would be Rs 571.04.

T. Sivasankaran Sir is right. PF & ESI deductions are always based on your earnings. Whether you work for 5 days or 26 days, the PF & ESI deductions must be done for those 5 or 26 days.
