Please excuse my ignorance, by 'HIRA' did you mean Hazard Risk Analysis Report?

Thank you, Sir. I stand corrected. I have moved it into the Health and Safety forum. I am certain our HSE experts can share operational details on this. Here are two resources that I found relevant to what he had asked for.

It is always advantageous to give a complete background on why we are seeking help. From your location in the ID, it appears that you are working in the automobile industry in the USA. So, I will presume that you are conversant with the use of the web to search for information. By modifying the terms from your query, I searched for "Hazards in welding shops" and found these links: http://www.tdi.texas.gov/pubs/videor...eldhazards.pdf and Welding fume health hazards - Safety Tech Cell - TheFabricator.com.

More such links can be found by "Googling".

Hazards in Welding

Hazards include the inhalation of fumes from welding. The risk depends on the metal being used and the flux applied.

The next hazard is injury to the eye if the welder doesn't wear safety goggles. This is due to the ultraviolet light emitted during welding and the infrared rays emitted during the same process. The risk involves short-term injury and, at times, may result in loss of eyesight due to retinal damage.

Lead poisoning during welding is the most common risk in the welding process.
