How Can We Teach Professionalism to New Graduates? Insights from Our Training Sessions

shailendra_deshpande
Recently, we have recruited many fresh BE & MBA graduates in the company. After the quarterly appraisal, we found that many people are lacking the knowledge of being "professional." Hence, we conducted basic interaction programs for them. The summary of these sessions is attached in parts for your reference. Now attached herewith is the Seventh & Last Part.

Hope it will be useful to all.

Professional Values: A Balanced Approach

Your attachment highlights KINDNESS, RESPECT, and INTEGRITY as the group of values that one should imbibe to be professional. Very impressive.

In our life, DOs and DON'Ts play an important part together. As much as we try to know the DOs, the knowledge of DON'Ts is also essential. The values given above cover the DOs. A peep is required at the DON'Ts also.

If I may add, shedding prejudices and bias would help in going a long way in establishing professionalism.

This is part 7 as mentioned by you, so there must be previous parts from 1 to 6. Let us know those parts as well, which will help all of us gather knowledge regarding professionalism. Although your endeavor is highly appreciable, I extend my thanks to you for sharing this part 7. It would be more valuable if you share the other six parts as well.

Your point is noted and appreciated. I may include this point in future presentations. I just did not include "Don't" in any aspect because, in my experience, people are looking for more "Do's" to understand and implement easily. It might be easy to convert "Do's" into "Don'ts", for example, "Do: Respect knowledge" and "Don't: Be arrogant with the skills/knowledge you have gained." Hence, personally, I have seen that today's people are looking for fast solutions/action steps. I will sincerely include your point in the future. Thanks for the valuable feedback.

Dear Mr. Karthik, all previous 6 parts are on this site only. I request you to browse for the thread with the subject. I am sure you will find all the parts. If you need further assistance, let me know.

Thank you.
