New HR Executive in a Startup: How Do I Tackle Salary Grades and Travel Policies?

p.zirpe
Hi, Recently, I have joined the software service industry as an HR executive. The company is in a startup condition. I need information on the following points:

1. Cost center
2. Grade
3. How to design a salary structure grade-wise. We have grades from 1 to 7, where 1 is for lower and 7 is for upper.
4. Travel policy for H1B cases

Can anyone help me with the same?

Thanks,
Pradnya

When you say "information," it means as of now nothing is in place, right? OK.

Cost Center: Each specific department has its own PnL. So, to maintain the incoming and outgoing costs, each department will have its own COST CENTER. For example, HR & Admin, Operations, Sales, Accounts, etc., will have differentiated cost centers for each one.

Grade: Grades are nothing but levels of employment, mainly Trainee, Junior, Mid, Senior, and Top Management. You have to classify your employees based on their experience and level in the company.

Salary: For all Grades, the salary structure could be the same except for the Top Management level. It's your call on how you want to design it. You may need to check the current salary structure to help you better.

Travel: Is there nothing as of now with you guys?
