It depends on which part of Nigeria you are talking about. Southern Nigeria is perfectly okay. However, northern Nigeria is quite troubled.
Nigeria's Business Capital: Lagos
Nigeria's business capital is Lagos. It is located in southern Nigeria. There is a large number of Indians in Lagos and the surrounding cities. A particular business community from India is very active there. In fact, the owners of the famous Dana Group are from India. In Lagos, you will find the same Airtel, the same TATA trucks, or the same NIIT. There is a good presence of Indian companies in Nigeria.
Security Concerns
As far as security issues are concerned, yes, some extra precautions are required, but that does not mean that the local population is hostile. In fact, a large number of Africans in general, and Nigerians in particular, respect India because of the development that we achieved in the post-independence era. In certain cases, like social manners or etiquette, they are better than us!
Education and Weather
I do not know much about the quality of education, but primary level schools are perfectly fine. In most places, the weather is similar to Mumbai, Chennai, or Kolkata.
Cultural Considerations
On the flip side, be ready to experience a cultural shock. Not that it is bad, but they have their own style of living, and getting accustomed to it is initially difficult.
I have been to Nigeria twice for training purposes. Both times, I enjoyed my stay.
There are no issues; you can migrate there very well. However, I recommend that you stay alone for a couple of months and then ask for a family visa. Don't take your family there directly.
