Planning a CiteHR Meet: How Can We Connect and Choose the Right Topics?

Wikiindia007
I suggest we have a CiteHR meet in some locations such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore, and Pune. However, I have no idea how to reach everyone or what topics should be covered in the meeting. Please advise me on how I can improve in other areas like this meeting.

Thank you.

Thank you for showing your interest in connecting. Here's what we can suggest for a meeting. Let's request a meeting with a topic that most of us would like to discuss. Keeping the group small will allow everyone to speak and listen to each other. Please let me know your thoughts and request input from our members.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.

Welcome to CiteHR.com. It is highly appreciable that within a day of your joining, you have come up with such a fantastic idea! Do tell us more about yourself, as there is no information available on your profile page. I urge you to please give detailed information to enable members to know you better.

About Your Queries

"But I have no idea how to reach all and what should be the topics in the meet."

You can decide on the topics in consultation with others after you have firmed up the location and date of the meet. To reach the members, you can use this thread itself! There is no necessity of having a location-wise list of members.

Warm regards.

I think we need to list down the members who are interested. The topic will be General HR Topics. We will give a chance to some senior members to provide short lessons like:

Morning:
- Welcome Speech
- Small Game
- Recruitment & Selection - 1/2 hr
- Funny Case Study
- Topic 2

Lunch

- Small Game
- Topic 3
- Topic 4
- Closing Game
- Closing Speech

Thank you.

Welcome to this knowledge-sharing forum. Here, you can learn and share knowledge with other members.

It is amazing to see your enthusiasm in organizing an HR Meet in your city. I suggest keeping the meeting time short instead of making it a full-day event. Consider setting the timings from 6 pm to 9 pm so that our working officials can make themselves available for the meet.

Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for the superb idea you suggested. I am interested. Pune and Mumbai are the best locations for me. Please arrange and suggest.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards

Here's what I would suggest: let's start with a small meeting to identify members who can conduct a larger meeting. This approach would be achievable and would help the team connect better. Could you please inform us about who will be meeting whom and where? Also, is there any way we can connect?

Please let me know if you need any further assistance or clarification.

Good initiative. As many have suggested, let us start meeting in our local area, and then we can have a big gathering after getting familiar with our local HR people. This will help us to be more organized and have it regularly.

Excellent idea. I would suggest making it a regular event, though with a humble start. I, being in UP, would like to be a part of events organized in this region of the country.

Hi all, going through the entire discussion, I found it a little confusing as to who is speaking for which location. May I know whom I should get in touch with for the Pune location?

There is already a provision for on-site HR to have a physical meeting of members. No one has bothered to click that button and activate it. I thought of it many times, but somehow, other priorities took over. I would be among the first to confirm attendance 

Do we start with a small group of members and then take it ahead once the group is established and more members are willing to join in? The format shared by WikiIndia is excellent. However, making a start would be easier with a smaller group. Whichever works best, let's get started with it. Ankit, our super moderator, is in Mumbai. I would like to connect the group with him as we start this. Looking forward to hearing more on this.

Dear seniors, it's quite amazing how energized you all get just talking about a physical meeting. Allow me to remind you of two things:

1. This is already a meeting with the minutes recorded in real-time. Though technology has never replaced and never will replace people, it has its pros. Bearing that in mind, on top of the fact that I'm with you all, both in substance and soul,

2. I'd like to suggest that the meeting would reach its fullest potential if the activities are defined by what we cannot do here.

Wishing you all a fruitful meeting.

Aung Ko Ko

Aung Ko Ko is right. Unless you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve, the meetings will not be successful. Even when the agenda is known, sometimes there is minimal support from members. For example, see https://www.citehr.com/351718-chrp-bangalore-meet.html. I have attended a couple of meetings arranged in Bangalore during my holiday visits to India and even addressed the gathering. However, the number of people that attended was not high.

Hi (Cite Contribution), May I help in organizing this meet in Pune? If you could give me a brief idea of how the previous meet was conducted, I could also help organize. Looking forward to a professional, though unofficial, meet like this.

Hi all, well, Wiki, it's a superb idea. I would like to give my suggestions:

1. Have meetings in various locations so that more members can attend.
2. The meetings should be small and not too lengthy so that every member can attend without taking up too much of their time.
3. The agenda for meetings in different places should be the same. This way, CiteHR can gather responses from various locations on the same topic to understand how people across different places think.

Great idea to go with. Let me know who is interested in organizing a meet in Bangalore. We shall meet up for a short while initially to socialize, and from there, we can organize it in a much better way.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

This is definitely a good idea. Are there any plans for the Delhi/NCR region?

I am in the Pallavaram/Chromepet area. In the Selaiyur area, there are some members available. Let us plan for a meeting, either a formal one or through Cite Swarm. The meeting may be scheduled for Sunday with a duration of 2 to 3 hours.

Dear all respected members, may I propose joining other professionals from commercial departments, legal departments, and all other segments of companies, including the retail and IT sectors? I feel that we can have a very valuable exchange of views, which in turn will help in the growth of individuals and the company at large.

Furthermore, it is also proposed to initially have a meeting at the state level and then progress to a countrywide level.

Thank you.

Hi all, is there any further progress on the CiteHR meet for the Pune location? Please do let me know.

Hi all, I joined this forum today, and it's good to see topics like this. I would suggest that we have a day-long session on Saturday since most companies work five days a week. My vote would be for Hyderabad. Members from Hyderabad, please consider this suggestion. People from other locations who want to visit Hyderabad and see this get-together as an opportunity are always welcome. 

For those members who reside in Delhi, they can meet at my college. I am doing my MBA in HR from DIAS, affiliated with GGSIPU. If interested, please let me know.

Thank you.

I suggest that we initiate the meeting with the available few members. There is no point in waiting for the requests. Please declare the venue, date, and timing, and let the members respond.

Anyone interested in the Eastern India location, please let me know as I am also interested in the meet. I am flexible with locations such as Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, etc. CiteHR members who are interested in the meet, please contact me at [Email Removed For Privacy Reasons] so that we can arrange a meeting with a small group of members.
