Dear Prashant,

My comments are given in italics.

Will you please help me to set KRA, KPI, and Competency Mapping for the below position?

Job Description - Senior Executive - Production

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning
*Don't you have a separate department for production planning?*

2. Manpower Allocation

3. Autonomous Maintenance Planning

4. Coordination with the Production Team
*If he is in charge of 8 production persons, then he should foster coordination among themselves. You have written as if he were to coordinate with some other department.*

5. Coordination with Other Departments to Carry Out Production as per the Production Plan
*Coordination with purchase is of utmost importance. In many companies, for production people, every indent is "urgent." While raising an indent, they should know what the lead time for every item is, and they should give the indent well in time. At times, production staff do not know how to write an indent itself. Many times, wrong purchases have been made because of the vague indent. Secondly, they should know how to write a "Bill of Material" (BOM) as well.*

Final Comments:

a. You have not included production's responsibility for the most important ratio, i.e., "Line Stoppage Ratio."

b. The second important ratio from the maintenance side is the "Overall Equipment Effectiveness" (OEE) ratio.

c. There is no mention of quality, safety, etc.

Ok...
